-VIRUS

What seems like a near-apocalyptic fantasy for some has become an outright nightmare for others. Children home from school disrupting routines for many homes, jobs fluctuating operating hours to balance new shipments, and new regulations daily sent from up the ladder have many Americans in fight or flight mode.
Stop. Take a breath.
It is okay to stock up the pantry with a few extra cans of veggies. I am not sure that hoarding mounds of toilet paper is the key to survival. After all, Charmin was once nonexistent. Deep breaths. Take this opportunity and blessing of time off to remember what it is like to be human.

⚠️

How can you make the best of this National Emergency that is the COVID-19 Pandemic?

⚠️Read (Or Write) that Book you keep ignoring.

In today's society, it is easy to sink into the couch and tell yourself that binge-watching 6 hours of the latest com on Netflix is acceptable. It is not, and you are wasting the miracle of life by spending your days like this. Dig deep and reignite your childlike creativity. Sketch something, read that book you've been putting off, or heck- write a sci-fi novel about COVID-19!

⚠️GO PLAY OUTSIDE, For the Love of Nature.

Some time in the sunlight will do wonders for keeping your  mind fresh. Utilize this time home to go for that hike you keep bumping down the priority list. Run the Greenbelt system nearby or simply go for a walk right out your front door. Take your kids. Take your dogs. NO EXCUSES.

⚠️Call Your Mom.

Yeah, yeah. You have used every excuse in the book to put this one off. It's late. I am working. Need to prep dinner. We are in a National Emergency. Call your freaking mom and tell her you love her. She is the reason for your existence in the first place and at least show some appreciation for hers.

Don't let the national crisis have you locked up inside. It is easy to go stir-crazy and feel like times are much worse than they actually are.

Above all, make time to get outside and breathe in some fresh air. The natural world all around you will bring you back to center and hopefully remind you that we don't have everything figured out and never really have. Errors happen, we are all human. Take these moments to remember what it feels like to be alive and allow yourself time beyond your normal routine to just breathe and do something that helps you relax.

KOKOPELLI PACKRAFT SEASON

Spring is well under way as the snow cradling mountain tops begins to turn into that element that boaters dream of, run-off. As peaks dry, rivers become full of rushing white waters and hopes of a rainy spring just in time to bump up that cfs of your hometown river. Alpine lakes transition from ice fishing holes into crystal structured kayaking paradises. And what better flotation device to hike up a mountain than a Kokopelli Packraft, destined for adventure.

Nirvana Self-Bailing

This boat is geared for whitewater and packs down to 8 lb 6 oz. The Nirvana Self-Bailer performs best up to a Class III rapid. It was the perfect size to haul along across the country, trying out new rivers and lakes all the way.

Pack it up, pack it in within a matter of minutes. The lightweight inflation bag makes filling your packraft with air a breeze- literally. It is the vanlifer's dream.

RAcks. Bikes. Rafts.

In the early stages of planning for #VANLIFE, I was torn between tying a hard sit-on-top to the racks of the roof or investing into a paddleboard. When I came across Kokopelli, it was an immediate DUH moment, and I decided that I couldn't live without an inflatable packraft.

Grabbing the packraft to get on the river last minute was easier than packing lunch, and it encouraged me to get out there on days with a later start than planned. When toting a child along on the adventure, having a boat that fits in the near palm of your hand is a major perk.

I am left with a deeper urge to explore and raft higher alpine lakes that aren't a simple drop-in away. There are so many rivers out there that I have yet to dip my feet in. This boat opens up possibilities to waters of your deepest imagination, and my favorite part is sharing the ride with my mini (Minnie- to her).
